Where this world began
Hello Subscribers, since you’ve now stepped into the opening of the story, I wanted to share something a little more personal — the seed of where this world came from.
Novaris wasn’t born from a single idea. It came from a feeling.
A sense that the world we know — the one we walk through every day — is slowly cracking under its own weight. Pollution, heat, rising seas, buildings stacked on buildings until the land can’t breathe anymore. I kept imagining what would happen if everything we rely on simply… buckled.
And then I wondered: Where would we go? What would we build if we had to start again?
That’s how Novaris formed — a city built all at once, uniform and efficient, a kind of floating hive designed to keep people safe by keeping everything the same. Purposeful. Controlled. Almost like a spaceship that never leaves the water.
But underneath that order, something else gives.
And maybe, there’s the quiet ache of people trying to remember what it means to be human in a place that rewards sameness.
And at the centre of it all is Aspen — my male lead.
Soft in a world that punishes softness.
Vulnerable in a city that treats emotion like a malfunction.
He’s the kind of character who feels everything deeply, even when he’s surrounded by people who’ve forgotten how.
I wanted you to know this because it’s the heart of the story:
a fragile world, a fragile boy, and the quiet rebellion of choosing to feel anyway.
Thank you for being here.
There’s more to share soon.

Update on Book 2
I can’t quite believe that I’ve finished my first draft already after taking four years to write my first one. It’s very exciting and in the hands of my Alpha readers as we speak.
-
WHat to call it?
I would love to have some suggestions on what to call the book.
SALT & ASH will remain its umbrella name but it needs its own title too.
-
wHATS NEXT?
Well, as sales continue, I need to focus on both social media and supporting other indie readers, reading their books and posting reviews - its this sort of thing which really make a difference when you’ve not got a publishing team behind you.
