Salt and Ash – A Broken Planet is the debut novel from Hampshire-based author Amelia Livermore, founder of Salt and Ash Books. Amelia is currently building Salt and Ash Books into a full publishing company, bringing her unique voice and vision to the wider literary world.

Educated in Biology, Psychology, and Chemistry at A-level, Amelia combines a scientific foundation with over a decade of professional experience in healthcare. Having worked in the sector for eleven years before dedicating herself fully to writing and raising her family, she brings both clinical understanding and lived emotional depth to her work.

As a mother to neurodivergent children, Amelia has immersed herself in the complexities of autonomy, communication, and societal systems — perspectives that subtly but powerfully inform her fiction. Her stories explore who society protects, who it overlooks, and what it truly means to live, laugh, and love.

A committed advocate for environmental consciousness, she is an active member of a local sustainability society. Her devotion to nature — a recurring theme in her work — grounds the trilogy’s ethical and emotional arcs.

The concept for Salt and Ash was sparked by a vivid dream following the birth of her third child — a moment that ignited deeper questions about modern civilisation. What happens when society fractures into those driven by ambition and productivity, and those left behind by circumstance? Who truly thrives? And what does it mean to live fully?

The trilogy continues with Book Two and Book Three scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027.
